Our Story
Meet
Jane
Mackie
Following me on a mission to transcend the ordinary – to inspire, connect, and uplift souls through the enchanting language of flowers.
Each bloom is a storyteller, a fragrant messenger weaving tales of beauty and emotion. With every arrangement, I strive not just to craft floral pieces but to create moments that linger in the heart and mind. As a florist, my purpose is clear: to paint the world with the vibrant hues of inspiration and to forge connections that transcend the fleeting nature of time.
Join me in this blooming journey where each petal whispers the timeless promise of inspiration, connection, and the uplifting power of nature's artistry.
THE LOVE OF FASHION & FLOWERS

THE LOVE OF FASHION & FLOWERS -
Established in 2015
Jane Mackie Flowers began with a modest display outside White Brothers fruit & veg shop, a venture taken over by her. Driven by a lifelong passion for fashion and interior styling, she believed in the seamless connection between flowers and these art forms. Inspired by Coco Chanel's insight that "Fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live," she saw an opportunity to blend creativity and nature.
With a career crossroads at hand, Jane's husband, now overseeing the family-run business at White Brothers, encouraged her to embrace her creative side and take charge of the flowers. This marked a pivotal moment where Jane discovered the synergy between fashion and floristry, a golden opportunity that felt like the perfect fit.
White Brothers Greengrocers est 1979
Established in 1979 by Tim and Nick White, White Brothers greengrocers started as stalls at the junction of Chatterton Road and Blackstock Road. Today, those same stalls are still used to sell Christmas trees. In 1981, the brothers acquired 150 Blackstock Road, marking the beginning of their journey with the first shop.
Present owner John Mackie (Jane Mackie’s husband), initiated his journey as a Saturday boy at 15, evolving from a dedicated employee to managing the shop due to his impressive work ethic. His commitment and passion for the trade stood out. At 23, John ventured into a 10-year professional football career with Reading FC and Leyton Orient.
In 2013, John returned to take the reins, infusing new life into the shop by introducing additional products like oils, nuts, seeds, and other groceries, offering a comprehensive shopping experience for Highbury customers.
Fortnum & Mason's Flower Department
Under the guidance of her friend and now business partner Julie, boasting over 30 years of industry experience, Jane underwent training. From working in Fortnum & Mason's flower department to styling at Jo Malone, Jane immersed herself in diverse experiences, all while collaborating with other small businesses like @cleliaskitchen.
Jane's journey has been a tapestry of learning, creativity, and collaboration. Grateful for the support on this path, she looks forward to further evolution, guided by Coco Chanel's wisdom, "To achieve great things, we must first dream." Thank you for being part of this transformative journey with Jane Mackie Flowers.
